Growing up in Korea, I saw firsthand how Chinese / Korean Medicine produced so many miraculous cures and I was quite familiar with it as part of my upbringing. It was always real to me but I never seriously considered it as a life path until I found that it is my true calling. At that point, I began the journey and hard work needed to become a true healer.

During my early life, I studied and played music, went to college and graduate school for music, but always wondered “Is music really my true calling?  Do I really want to study for a doctorate degree in music?  What purpose does music have for me?” During that period of my life, I experienced significant levels of stress that come from being in the music field, and it started to affect my health.  I also suffered from chronic and serious environmental and seasonal sinus infections that impacted my studies and life.  I tried many different forms of alternative medicine and Western medicine for my chronic allergies and sinus issues, but nothing worked until I found Chinese Medicine, which finally gave me my life back. I immediately decided to change my path from music to healing, in the hope of providing others with the relief I had found. It was a turning point in my life and has forever changed me.

After graduate school, I spent four years (full-time) studying acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, one of the Nation’s leading schools for acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and integrative medicine.  It was while at Pacific College that I met Ken Andes and began working at his clinic in Ramsey in early 2008. While taking classes at Pacific College I was mentored by Ken on an almost daily basis, assisting him in delivering patient care, and was privileged to learn his unique methods of practicing natural medicine.

Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to assist in the care of thousands of cases, having grown from a small group of 30 patients.  This growth has been strictly through word-of-mouth with no advertising. Beginning in 2014, I have been offering treatments at the Natural Chinese Medicine, Ramsey, NJ office to help serve our rapidly expanding patient base and to continue to care for the chronically ill.  During these years I have gained invaluable experience in treating immune, endocrine, and neurological disorders as well as women’s health issues.

I am a life-long learner and a “forever student”. In addition to my training at Pacific College, I have received extensive training in Clinical Nutrition, Neuro-Muscular Rehabilitation, Functional Endocrinology, Modern Homeopathy, Onnuri Medicine, and Applied Kinesiology. I believe that learning can never stop in this field and have continued to refine my skills with several world renowned healers.

I sincerely feel fortunate that I am working in this field, and seeing great improvements in my patients. I appreciate that I can help many people become mentally and physically healthy and change their lifestyles as well. I used to work on my own happiness while I pursued music - of course, through my music I was able to bring joy and happiness to people, or heal them from emotional problems - but yet, that was not enough for me.  Now, I am helping people, and guiding them towards better and healthier lives. I see myself as delivering improvement and renewed joy-of-life to my patients, and have truly fallen in love with what I do. I would like to be the first one you think of whenever you face a health issue.

To book your first appointment, you will be asked to provide a credit card number to reserve your time. If you need to cancel or reschedule your first appointment, you must provide us with at least 48 hours notice to allow us to provide this time to other patients.  Cancellations provided with less than 48-hour notice or no-show will incur the full fee of $115, which will be billed to the provided credit card.

For returning patients, a 24-hour notice period is required for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid incurring the full fee of $80.

 Please remember, when you make an appointment at Meridian Arts-Acupuncture, that appointment time is reserved exclusively for you and no one else. It is rare that our patients wait more than 10 minutes to be seen by the clinician and this is because we do our best to respect your time. We do not overbook our schedule. We make sure that we have enough time with each person to deliver good quality medical care. So if you cancel your appointment without giving sufficient notice, or don’t show up because you forgot, that really hurts. We are left with an appointment slot that we could have given to someone else but didn’t because we were saving it for you.
